MSC 2010 Volunteer Award Presented! (24/09/2010)
A volunteer is the rock of a community. The generosity of a volunteer’s actions has a ripple effect on society: as each as each ripple is released into the big pond, each contribution makes the world of difference.
There was a diverse range of nominations that reflected the broad spectrum of volunteering from administrative and governance level contributions, through to very practical and innovative hands on work with youth, and others in the community.
Congratulations goes out to Noel Bigwood in winning the award which recognises his huge contribution to the outdoors via Mountain Safety Council work, search and rescue work and much more.
Congratulation goes to the other nominees also. NZ Mountain Safety Council would like to say a big thank-you to your contribution to the Outdoors sector, and to NZ Mountain Safety. The nominees included:
- David Eaton
- Malcolm Cook
- Noel Bigwood
- Owen Joyce
- Top Hopkins
- Nigel Seebeck (Highly commended)
