Recent review of the HUNTS programme by Mary Dixon, published in the Gisborne Herald

"A young member of our family has recently participated in the HUNTS programme run by Mountain Safety Gisborne.

This course consisted of five evenings and three weekends, one on bushcraft, another on firearms and the third out hunting deer and goats. The participants were introduced to basic skills in bushcraft, map reading , firearms law and safety and hunting  techniques.

The whole experience was interesting, informative and positive. We have nothing but admiration for the time and expertise the talented leaders contributed to this programme, and appreciation for the responsibility they took accompanying these mostly inexperienced, keen and mainly youthful future hunters into the bush.

Mountain Safety Gisborne run other courses, including Outdoor First Aid, Risk Management, G.P.S. and Students Firearms Safety. We acknowledge their contribution to outdoor opportunities for Gisborne youngsters."
