The New Zealand Mountain Safety Council (MSC) is a national organisation specialising in outdoor safety for all land-based recreational activities. The MSC sets nationwide standards in outdoor safety, offers educational programmes and promotes safe participation.
As a leading authority for outdoor safety information and training our goals are to:
- Enable people to enjoy their recreation safely in the outdoors.
- Foster positive community support for outdoor safety.
- Promote the development and maintenance of national outdoor safety standards for land-based activities.
