Courses

PLEASE NOTE: The changes highlighted below do not impact Firearms training courses. Current delivery of the Firearms programme will continue, with new firearms instructor applications and warrant completion unaffected. Firearms Safety lectures, Range Officer and Whakatūpato courses will continue.

The New Zealand Mountain Safety Council (MSC) is changing the way it operates to help more people enjoy the outdoors, safely. As part of this, the MSC will soon stop offering outdoor training courses, will no longer manage a qualification framework/pathway and is not accepting any new instructor applications (excluding Firearms).

If you want to become a firearms instructor, please click here for more information.

To find out more about the changes the MSC is making and why, visit the One MSC page.

More information, including details of other organisations offering similar training courses, is available on the Alpine, Avalanche, Bushcraft, Firearms and Outdoor First Aid course pages below. Please click on the relevant button to access this information.
